Turn photos into study notes

Half of what you study is on paper: your own handwriting, a borrowed notebook, a textbook you cannot take home. Photograph the pages and Memo turns them into clean, organised notes you can search, read and study from.

IS lecture – week 4

29/08/2026, Audio, 48 min

Quick overview

Business information systems collect and process the information that supports decision-making in companies.

Key takeaway: Without good data, even the best system will not produce good decisions.

Types of system

  • Transactional – captures the day-to-day business events.
  • Decision support – analysis and scenarios for management.
  • ERP – ties the processes into one data model.
The real app, with a sample lecture. Yours shows your own material.

How it works

  1. In Memo, add photos: take them with your camera or pick them from your gallery, up to ten at a time.
  2. Memo reads the handwriting and the printed text on every photo and puts the pages together in order.
  3. In a few minutes you have notes organised by topic, written in the language of your material.
  4. Read the notes once, then switch to flashcards or the quiz on the same note to check what stayed.

What you get

  • Structured notes with headings, the key ideas marked and the definitions spelled out
  • Explanations where the material only hints at something
  • The full transcript, for anything that was recorded
  • Notes you can read aloud, print, or ask questions about in the chat

Tips for the best result

  • Photograph each page flat and straight on, in daylight if you can.
  • Take the photos of one topic together, up to ten, so they become one note.
  • Borrowed notes from a classmate work too. Memo reads the handwriting and explains what the notes only abbreviate.

What you can upload

Photos of handwritten notes, textbook pages, worksheets and whiteboards: jpg, png, webp and the iPhone's HEIC, up to ten photos in one note.

Photograph each page straight on, in good light, without your hand over the text. That matters more than the camera.

Questions

Can I photograph a textbook?

Yes. Memo explains the pages in its own words, so you get notes rather than a copy of the book.

Can it read handwriting?

Yes, including messy lecture notes. The clearer the photo, the fewer words it has to guess.

What if my photos are only exercises or headings?

Memo teaches the topic they name, so a worksheet or a list of exam questions still becomes study material.

Are the notes a summary or the whole thing?

They cover the whole material, organised and explained, not a few lines about it. The point is that you can learn from the notes alone.

Try it on your own material.

Upload a lecture, a PDF or your slides and get notes, flashcards and a quiz in a few minutes.
