Turn pictures into flashcards
You have the material on paper and want flashcards on your phone. Photograph the pages, and Memo reads them, handwriting included, and writes a deck on what they cover.

How it works
- In Memo, add photos: take them with your camera or pick them from your gallery, up to ten at a time.
- Memo reads the handwriting and the printed text on every photo and puts the pages together in order.
- Open the Flashcards tab on the note and Memo writes a deck on the concepts, definitions and facts that matter most.
- Go through the deck, mark each card, and repeat the rounds until every card is known.
What you get
- A deck of question-and-answer cards covering the key concepts
- Cards you flip and grade as known or not yet known
- The cards you missed come back in the next round until you know them
- Decks you can print and take with you
Tips for the best result
- Vocabulary lists, definitions and dates make especially good cards.
- Photograph the summary at the end of a textbook chapter for a quick revision deck.
What you can upload
Photos of handwritten notes, textbook pages, worksheets and whiteboards: jpg, png, webp and the iPhone's HEIC, up to ten photos in one note.
Photograph each page straight on, in good light, without your hand over the text. That matters more than the camera.
Questions
How many photos can I use?
Up to ten in one note. For more, make a second note.
Can it read handwriting?
Yes, including messy lecture notes. The clearer the photo, the fewer words it has to guess.
What if my photos are only exercises or headings?
Memo teaches the topic they name, so a worksheet or a list of exam questions still becomes study material.
Can I study the flashcards on my phone?
Yes. Memo works in any phone browser, so you can go through a deck on the bus.
Try it on your own material.
Upload a lecture, a PDF or your slides and get notes, flashcards and a quiz in a few minutes.
