Turn PowerPoint slides into notes

Lecture slides are a reminder for the lecturer, not notes for you: three bullet points stand in for ten minutes of explanation. Memo reads the slides, text and pictures, and writes notes that explain what each one is about.

IS lecture – week 4

29/08/2026, Audio, 48 min

Quick overview

Business information systems collect and process the information that supports decision-making in companies.

Key takeaway: Without good data, even the best system will not produce good decisions.

Types of system

  • Transactional – captures the day-to-day business events.
  • Decision support – analysis and scenarios for management.
  • ERP – ties the processes into one data model.
The real app, with a sample lecture. Yours shows your own material.

How it works

  1. Download the slides from your course page and choose Upload a document in Memo.
  2. Memo reads the text and the images on every slide and fills in what bullet points only hint at.
  3. In a few minutes you have notes organised by topic, written in the language of your material.
  4. Read the notes once, then switch to flashcards or the quiz on the same note to check what stayed.

What you get

  • Structured notes with headings, the key ideas marked and the definitions spelled out
  • Explanations where the material only hints at something
  • The full transcript, for anything that was recorded
  • Notes you can read aloud, print, or ask questions about in the chat

Tips for the best result

  • If you recorded the lecture, make a note from the recording too: together they hold both what was shown and what was said.
  • Slides full of diagrams work best as .pptx, so Memo can look at every image.
  • Download the newest version of the slides before the exam; lecturers often update them during the semester.

What you can upload

PowerPoint presentations (.pptx), and slides exported from Google Slides or Keynote as .pptx or PDF. Memo reads the slide text and looks at the slides themselves, so diagrams are not lost.

Old .ppt files are not supported yet. Open the file and save it as .pptx or PDF first.

Questions

Does it read text inside images on the slides?

Yes. Memo looks at the slides themselves, so text in diagrams and screenshots is read too.

Can I use Google Slides?

Yes. In Google Slides choose File → Download → Microsoft PowerPoint (.pptx) or PDF, then upload that file.

My slides are only bullet points. Is that enough?

Usually, yes. Memo explains the topic each slide names, so short slides still turn into notes you can learn from. If you also recorded the lecture, upload the recording too: it carries what the lecturer said around the slides.

Are the notes a summary or the whole thing?

They cover the whole material, organised and explained, not a few lines about it. The point is that you can learn from the notes alone.

Try it on your own material.

Upload a lecture, a PDF or your slides and get notes, flashcards and a quiz in a few minutes.
