How it works
- Open Memo, choose Upload a document and pick the PDF from your phone or computer.
- Memo reads every page, including the scanned ones, and works out how the material is structured.
- Open the Flashcards tab on the note and Memo writes a deck on the concepts, definitions and facts that matter most.
- Go through the deck, mark each card, and repeat the rounds until every card is known.

Tips for the best result
- Upload the PDF your teacher actually examines from. Flashcards are only as useful as the material they come from.
- Do short rounds every day rather than one long session before the exam.
- If a card is too easy, you already know it; keep going. The point of a round is to find the cards you do not.
What you can upload
Any PDF: lecture handouts, exported slides, textbook chapters, articles. Scanned PDFs work too, because Memo reads the pages as images when there is no text in them.
A very large PDF is best split by chapter. One note per chapter is also easier to revise than one note for a whole textbook.
Questions
Can I make flashcards from a textbook chapter?
Yes. Upload the chapter as a PDF, or photograph the pages if you only have the printed book.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
Yes. When a page is a picture rather than text, Memo reads the picture, so scanned handouts and photographed books work too.
Does the PDF have to be in English?
No. Memo writes the study material in the language the PDF is in.
Can I study the flashcards on my phone?
Yes. Memo works in any phone browser, so you can go through a deck on the bus.
