PDF → Mind map
Turn a PDF into a mind map
A long PDF is hard to hold in your head because you only ever see one page of it. A mind map shows the whole thing at once: the main topics, what sits under each, and how they connect.

How it works
- Open Memo, choose Upload a document and pick the PDF from your phone or computer.
- Memo reads every page, including the scanned ones, and works out how the material is structured.
- The first time you open the Mind map tab, Memo maps the whole note, however long it is.
- Start from the centre, open one branch at a time and try to say what is under it before you open it.
What you get
- A mind map of every topic in the material and how they connect
- Branches you open one at a time, so a big subject stays readable
- Search across the whole map
- A picture of the map you can save
Tips for the best result
- Open the mind map before you start reading. Knowing the shape of the material makes every page easier to place.
- Use the map to revise: open a branch only after you have said out loud what you think is in it.
- Save the map as a picture and keep it next to your notes for the exam.
What you can upload
Any PDF: lecture handouts, exported slides, textbook chapters, articles. Scanned PDFs work too, because Memo reads the pages as images when there is no text in them.
A very large PDF is best split by chapter. One note per chapter is also easier to revise than one note for a whole textbook.
Questions
How big a PDF can it map?
There is no cut-off: Memo plans the topics over the whole document and fills them in section by section, so a long PDF gets a complete map.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
Yes. When a page is a picture rather than text, Memo reads the picture, so scanned handouts and photographed books work too.
Does the PDF have to be in English?
No. Memo writes the study material in the language the PDF is in.
Does the mind map leave parts out?
No. Memo maps the whole material, so a long chapter gets a bigger map rather than a shorter one.
